 Welcome to Molten2009!
It is a great pleasure for me to address my friends and colleagues from different countries of the world, who are somehow related to high temperature processes.
Molten Slags Fluxes and Salts is a meeting that has been going around the world for more than a fourth of a century, beginning in Halifax, Canada (1980), then in Lake Tahoe, USA (1984), Strathclyde, UK (1988), Sendai, Japan (1992), Sydney, Australia (1997), Stockholm/Helsinki, Sweden/Finland (2000), Cape Town, South Africa (2004) and this is the first time it is coming to South America, so we are very proud to host this event in Santiago, Chile.

The Organizing Committee is pleased to invite technologists from the mining, metallurgical and material industry, as well as researchers from universities, institutes and centers, to participate in the next VIII International Conference on Molten Slags, Fluxes and Salts, MOLTEN 2009 to be held from January 18 to 21, 2009 in the Sheraton Hotel & Convention Center, Santiago, Chile.
This conference is the eighth of a series initiated in 1980 in Halifax, Canada and is held every fourth years at important centers in the world. This is the first time the conference venue is in South América.
